unChristian quote

There is nothing more powerful than the Christian life lived out in obedience; there is nothing worse than a flat, self-righteous form of faith that parades around in Christian clothes. ~ David Kinnaman, from the book, unChristian, p.83.

And I say "right on!"

I'm getting into this book and I'm feeling another LGF Book Review night coming on at the Loving God Fellowship Salem campus.  The last LGF Book Review night we had on The Shack was awesome.

What do you say on the above quote from unChristian?

the shack

My friend, Jenni Clayville, turned me on to The Shack.  I bought the book and took it to read on a plane trip back east.  I could not put it down and I highly recommend it.

On May 30th, we are going to do what we call an LGF Book Review on it at the www.LovingGodFellowship.org Salem Campus.

This is how it works:

  • Everyone reads the book.
  • We meet at LGFers Dale and Becky Wilson's house at 6:30 PM on May 30th.
  • Everyone brings finger foods and their favorite 1 liter of soda.
  • We fellowship and discuss the book together until 8:30 PM.

I love LGF Book Reviews!

The Events of the Last Supper

When most in our world today are reminded of “The Last Supper”, they picture in their mind the painting by artist Leonardo Da Vinci which received more attention in our day by the fictional book and movie, The Da Vinci Code.  The 15 by 29 foot painting portrays the reactions of the twelve Christ followers as they are told by Jesus that one of them would betray Him.

The events at the last supper tell us much about Jesus and His relationship with us today.  Read more....

Harry Potter

Below are some good links concerning Harry Potter.

Why We Like Harry Potter by Christianity Today.

Redeeming Harry Potter by Christianity Today's Movie.Com.

'Potter V'-- The Trouble with Harry by Dr. Ben Witheringon of Asbury Theological Seminary.

Matt Singley's blog entry titled "Harry Potter".

I went and saw the movie on Friday with my family and thought it was the best one yet.  I've seen all five and have read the first three books.

Mad Church Disease

My friend Anne Jackson is writing a book titled Mad Church Disease and you are needed to be a part of it.  She is seeking to survey 5,000 people and use the input in the book.  Please take a minute of your time to click and take the survey.

I'm excited about personally being a part of this book and reading the finished product when Anne completes it.

Thanks for your willingness to be a part!
